{2008.12.20} Twitter’s firehose, now called HOSEbird, may be released within a few weeks. We do not know what uses they’ll allow. We’ve not accomplished much in the way of coding for five months, instead focusing our efforts on using the tools to forecast Events, with some surreal success.
{2008.11.08} We’ve been using the Datamining feed from Twitter. 600 msgs per minute. It’s fun but throttled, so we’ve left our algo’s as is. Twitter has announced their hope for a full Firehose feed by Thanksgiving. Without a TOS, we don’t know what uses will be approved.
{2008.09.13} The TweetProbe development continues on hold until TwitterHQ releases their new TOS agreement for their “data mining” feeds.
{2008.09.08} We have two amazing “one-off” desktop apps :) but your convo is in the clouds, while we wander around in this darkness, fine tuning things, waiting for the Sun to burn up those clouds…
{2008.07.15} Today Twitter announced their acquisition of Summize. Hooray! Within their statement, Twitter says “Providing tools for filtering all the real-time information coursing through Twitter has long been part of our vision.”
Immediately we feel our vision is in direct competition with whatever future filtering tools they develop. After seven months of around the clock development, we are aborting beta testing and development on our retail twitter client.
Sylvi, Ella and her cousin are advising we immediately redirect all remaining resources to Spore creature development.
